Cardi B has officially dropped out of Bruno Mars’ The 24K Magic Tour. The new mom announced her decision on Instagram with a lengthy post explaining why she won’t be going on the road with Mars this fall.

“I hope you guys understand,” Cardi wrote. “This have been such a hard decision.”

In her post, Cardi wrote that she thought she’d be ready to go on tour after giving birth six weeks ago. She believed those six weeks would give her enough time “to recover mentally and physically” but turns out it isn’t long enough.

She also notes that she believed she would be able to bring her baby, Kulture Kiari Cephus, on the road with her. But now her doctor told her baby Kulture can’t go on tour too. “I’m not ready to leave my baby behind since the doctors explained it’s not healthy for her to be on the road,” Cardi wrote.

Cardi said she “underestimated this whole mommy thing” and said that the decision to drop out was the hardest to make. But she’s putting her baby first like any mom would.

Mars is super supportive of her decision to stay home and take care of her baby. He posted a statement on Twitter about Cardi dropping out.

“Most important thing is you and your family’s health,” he wrote. “I know the fans will understand. You are absolutely doing the right thing. I also know we’ll share the stage when the time is right.”

Mars also said that he will be playing Cardi’s first number one single, “Bodak Yellow” every night on tour.

Cardi gave birth on July 10, 2018, to her daughter Kulture. This is Cardi’s first kid and her husband Offset’s fourth.
