Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Are Expecting A Royal Baby

Today Kensington Palace announced that Prince Harry, 34, and Duchess Meghan Markle, 37, are pregnant and expecting a royal baby.

The royal family shared the news on their social media.

“Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019,” they tweeted.

During Princess Eugenie’s wedding, it was speculated that Meghan was pregnant. A source told Us Weekly that the couple was trying for a baby.

“They both want a big family, at least three kids,” the Us Weekly source said. They added that Meghan is “starting to feel more settled” as a Duchess now.

Their pregnancy announcement comes five months after their televised royal wedding. Meghan and Harry wed at Windsor Castle and became the first African-American to become a royal.

A Kensington Palace spokeswoman told the Washington Post that Meghan is “in good health.”

The spokeswoman added that Meghan’s mom, Doria Ragland, “is very happy about this lovely news and she looks forward to welcoming her first grandchild.”

Their child will be the seventh in line for the throne. Making Queen Elizabeth II the child’s great-grandmother and Prince Charles their grandfather. The child’s father Prince Harry will still remain sixth in line for the throne and the child’s cousins, Prince Louis, Princess Charlotte and Prince George ahead in line as well.
