Back in the day, if you needed a definition or an explanation, you could turn to the dictionary or the encyclopedia. Eventually, Wikipedia became the go-to in regards to necessary info. Urban Dictionary took over when it came to modern slang.
Of course, now we just use Twitter for all of the above. Twitter is like a free, funny dictionary without all of the citations and with memes. Basically, it’s the best of both worlds.
One Twitter user decided to turn to social media with a question about a TV show. This question eventually sparked a hilarious thread that didn’t necessarily define what they were looking for, but did explain over 100 other words, phrases, TV shows, natural phenomena and historical occurrences.
It all began with @SadGirlKMS asking, “Isnt rick and morty that thing you get when you die and your body gets all stiff.”

Many of the tweets have thousands of likes and retweets, which proves the power of social media. The thread has gone completely viral, gaining attention from media outlets and Twitter itself thanks to their Moments feature.
For clarity, Wikipedia defines Rick and Morty as the following:
Rick and Morty is an American adult animated science-fiction sitcom created by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon for Cartoon Network’s late-night programming block Adult Swim. The series follows the misadventures of cynical mad scientist Rick Sanchez and his fretful, easily influenced grandson Morty Smith, who split their time between domestic life and interdimensional adventures. The series premiered on December 2, 2013 and its third season concluded on October 1, 2017. A fourth season has been mentioned first by Harmon in a September 2017 interview, and later in the post-credits scene of the third season’s finale.
Uh, yeah. We like Twitter’s explanation better. We’re just gonna go with that.
