You could argue that Black Friday is a suicide mission. Lining up with thousands of your closest friends, risking being trampled on at 4am, all for the possibility of buying a TV for a 99% off. With all this stress there is also the fact that there’s no guarantee you’ll ever get to enjoy those low prices!
So, if you’re crazy enough to leave your house on Black Friday and enter into a mall, or any form of store you need to game plan your assault on the box stores. Gear up with these five apps and make the most of your Black Friday suicide mission. Read More »

We here at CC are loving the Windows Phone. Recently brought to our office by the kind folks at Microsoft, we’ve been playing with its amazing features non stop! Because of this, we were inspired to share some snazzy apps available for this stylish cell phone.
This is a sponsored post and part of Microsoft’s Windows Champions Program. I received incentives from Microsoft to blog about its products. Read More »
Want to cheat on your boyfriend? There’s an App for that!
No, seriously. There is.
As infidelity rates increase between committed and married couples, technology has found several new and disturbing ways to keep up. Tech-savvy adulterers have moved from the naughty chatrooms of the 90s to using the iPhone and Blackberry apps of the new generation. With this, cheating has shutdown, rebooted and upgraded itself to become even more easy and available; it has developed into “cheating 2.0”.
AshleyMadison.com, a website that prides itself on being “The worlds leading married dating service for discreet encounters” has been a part of this illicit craze from the beginning. Now with phone apps (complete with no electronic history trail), AshleyMadison.com has more than doubled over the past year, now with over 9, 870,000 members. According to the dating profiles as documented by TIME Magazine, 92% of males and 60% of females joining the AshleyMadison.com community are married or otherwise attached. Most of the site is made up of men, but women users have doubled since its launch in 2001. Biderman, the CEO of the site admits to TIME Magazine that he would be “devastated” if his own wife used the website. He is convinced, however, that “people cheat because their lives aren’t working for them…No website or 30 second ad is going to convince [them].” Read More »
All these smart phones and iPads have made life pretty convenient. News stories are a button away, exercise apps can amp up our workouts and no one can ever complain of boredom with constant access to Fruit Ninja. The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) recently came out with a pretty sweet app all about students, trends and news. It got me thinking, we are in need of one super app for college girls designed to make our lives just a little bit more fun and easy.
Want to rock college? Yeah, there (should be) an app for that.
1. Class Schedule Synched With the Besties: You won’t have to waste any more time figuring out when you can all “do lunch.” This feature will do the work for you
2. Digital Version of your Campus Newspaper: Because that way, you might actually read it.
3. Access to the Grub Hub App: Save your address and credit card details. Maybe even your favorite orders. Pita Pit has never felt closer.
4. Local Happy Hours and Specials: It’s hard to keep them all straight. We know Wednesdays are half-off of wine night, but friendly daily reminders that it’s buy one-get-one-free or 10 cent wing night could really help us save a buck or two.
5. Professor Rankings: A quick and easy way to tap into Rate My Professor.com or whatever service your school uses. Signing up for classes will be a breeze.
6. Jokes on Mondays: Because we hate having a case of the Mondays and sometimes a few popsicle jokes are all we need to get going. Knock Knock…
7. Calorie Counter: Sadly not all campus coffee shops have the calories listed underneath the mocha frappuccinos. Oh wait, you don’t want to know?
8. Social Calendar: Wouldn’t it be nice if on-campus social events were just updated into a nicely organized calendar? You wouldn’t have to be bombarded with Facebook event invites every 5 seconds but also wouldn’t miss anything cool because you refused to sort through the spam.
9. Weekly Microwavable Recipes: We may finally be off the meal plan but are pretty far from cooking up a storm. Put down the lean cuisine, there are other options out there.

There’s an app for that.
For what? Well, just about everything these days. From finding the perfect shirt to getting directions to that restaurant you’ve only ever been to once to planning your wedding. There’s an app for it.
And most of the time, I think that’s a good thing. I pride myself on welcoming new technology, embracing these changes and seeing them as good technological advancements, rather than unnecessary complications. But today I just might have to make an exception. Because after spending some time in the app store I’ve made some discoveries that have led me to question not only my love of technology, but my love of humanity.
Have you seen what’s out there? It’s okay if you haven’t. Because I’ve brought it here for you. Partly to inform you, but also so you can commiserate with me. These are the apps our guys are downloading? No wonder they screw up so often!
1. Breastimate. An app that can tell you the bra size of every women in the room. You can either upload a picture, if you’re really curious about an old flame, or take a photo right there on the spot. Just point and click and there you have it. A “breastimated” bra size.

As college girls our cell phones are our lifelines. Our way to contact our friends. To Google nagging questions. To check our e-mail and update our Facebook. We utilize them as much as we possibly can in every way we can. From scheduling to shopping.
Shopping?
Yes, shopping. Cell phones improve our lives in a lot of different ways but I bet you didn’t know they could improve the way you shop too. Well…we did, but don’t worry, we’ve decided to share our wisdom with our lovely readers. Here are seven shopping apps that will better your shopping experience!
1. ShopSavvy. Scan the barcode of that blouse with your cell phone and ShopSavvy will compare prices from over 20,000 different stores, while also providing product views. You’ll never buy a dress only to see it for 50% off somewhere else ever again! (Don’t you hate when that happens?) Download it here!

It’s no surprise to say technology has completely changed the way we, as a society, come together. From Twitter to Foursquare, J-Date to Match.com, gone are the days of quainter communication. Forget about lying in bed twirling the phone cord around your finger as you trade campus gossip with your BFF, just log onto Facebook and you’ll have hundreds of networks worth of information at your fingertips.
In the spirit of revolutionary social networking, here are some of the best sites and apps to use if you want to…
Go fly a kite.
Meetup.com is perfect for anyone who’s looking to meet people with whom they share a special interest. If you’re a Brooklynite with a love of kites, they’ve got you covered. Wednesday, January 27, 2010: a big day for America.
That’s right, yesterday we witnessed the unveiling of Apple’s latest and greatest: the iPad.
For those of you who have been in a bubble since yesterday (doing homework perhaps?) we’ll put it this way: Kindle+ gameboy +portable DVD player+ internet+ bigger and better APPS = the iPad. (I figured the math equation would make you feel like you’re doing homework, even though you’re totally procrastinating). Since yesterday, the iPad has gotten more press than Paris Hilton’s sex tape. EVERYONE is talking about it.
Oh, what’s that? Something else happened yesterday?
Huh?

Bring in 2010 the right way.
This is not one of those weeks for me.
After a particularly excruciating weekend, I’ve come to realize a few things. First of all, Patron doesn’t sit well with an entire bottle of white wine. Secondly, if you go to an NHL hockey game on a Sunday, do not expect anything to get done that evening. Finally, and most relevantly, I need some serious guidelines when I go out.
Hence, this week I’m providing a survival kit for New Year’s Eve, the blurriest and biggest party night of the year. Here are 10 things everyone must have to ensure the biggest, baddest, awesomest, most memorable (with the help of that digital camera, of course) night.
10. Tacky 2010 glasses
I was mourning the end of these bad boys at the end of the year, but someone figured out how to make them for 2010. Score.
9. Champagne
This one is a given. Please upgrade your champagne choice from “the cheapest thing in the store.” Bad champagne = bad, bad hangover. I speak from experience. Trust. Read More »

Every week I count backwards from ten. I know, I’m kind of a big deal. Usually these countdowns have a theme like which phrases really grind my gears (“grind my gears” should be mentioned) or how I’m I heart not drinking (which is a hard list to replicate cuz I’m really loving beer right now), but this week I’m leaning to my geekier side.
This week, I’m counting down the ten craziest technologies. Whether they’re crazy in the “what the f&!# way” or crazy in the “I need that NOW” way, I’m listing them all, from social media to iPhone apps. Gen-Y has access to the wackiest and most innovative technology right now and here’s my “Weekly Ten” take on all of it:
10. Twitter Peek
How have we reached this point? A device solely for Tweeting? The end is near.
9. Last.Fm
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: if you’re a music junkie like me you MUST get last.fm. You can download an app for your computer that scrobbles (crazy jargon!) whatever you’re playing and can show the world what you’re listening to. I love seeing what my friends are jamming out to. Last.Fm also creates a personal radio station for you that kicks Pandora’s butt by a mile. Love it.
8. Skype
Phone calls, video chat and texting. All in one and it’s international. You can even place calls thru Skype via the wifi on your iPhone. It’s a little buggy, but still pretty cool to call your friends abroad. FOR FREE. Read More »
